2013 Dentistry From The Heart Results
February 8 brought numerous volunteers and community members seeking free dental care to Bright Star Dental. When all was said and done, 130 dental procedures were completed - 70 cleanings and 60 fillings. All at no charge! Bright Star Dental extends gratitude to everyone who supported the event through donations, those who volunteered their time, and those who came in order for us to provide this service.
2013 Dentistry From the Heart
Friday, February 8, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.
It's time for the 2013 Dentistry From The Heart free dental care day. Mark your calendar for Friday, February 8, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adults aged 18 and above can receive either a free filling or a free cleaning after filling out a short health history form and presenting a government-issued photo ID.
The Bright Star Dental team and volunteers will be working hard all day to provide free dental care to residents of Las Cruces and beyond. We've had visitors come from as far as Odessa, Texas, in order to get their cleaning or filling!
Dress warmly and be prepared to wait outside. Care will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Park at Young Park on Walnut and take the free shuttle over to the Bright Star Dental office at 2010 E. Lohman in Las Cruces. Shuttle service begins at 6 am. for those who want to be first in line.

2012 Dentistry From the Heart
On Friday, February 3, Bright Star Dental held its sixth annual Dentistry From The Heart event, providing free dental care to 182 people. The value of the care provided that day equaled $44,765. Over the six years, nearly 1000 people have been served, with a total value of care of $240,000.
Patients received free fillings courtesy of Dr. Brian Gilbert of Bright Star Dental and Dr. Jeanine Samperi of Children’s Dental Clinic. In addition, Bright Star Dental staff hygienists Angela Sanchez, Diana Sanchez and Marie Galaz and volunteer Hayda Podilla gave their time to clean teeth throughout the day. Numerous volunteers, including the rest of the Bright Star Dental staff, performed services from registering and scheduling patients to coordinating parking. NMSU Pre-Dental Society and honor students also gave their time to support the effort.
Dentistry From The Heart is a national campaign focused on providing a day of free dental annually. Dr. Gilbert and Bright Star Dental also offer healthcare scholarships to local graduating high school seniors every April, host a food drive to benefit Gospel Rescue Mission every August, and hold the Halloween Candy Buy Back each year on November 1.
